This is Mesquite’s largest PRCA sanctioned rodeo of the year. More than 400 contestants are expected, including WNFR contestants. Stace Smith, 7X PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year, furnishes the athletic animals featured at what is referred to by the cowboys as The Christmas Rodeo. The Mesquite ProRodeo is always a unique mixture of cowboy competition, great livestock, hilarious clowns and family entertainment.
On of Mesquite Rodeo’s most requested acts, Kenny Petit and his Chuck Wagon Races, is this events specialty entertainment. The action is mixed with patriotic pageantry, comedy, kids’ calf scramble and mutton bustin’.

The Christmas holidays are a time for families to spend time together and enjoy the pageantry that the season brings to the area. Part of the pageantry includes music unique to the Christmas season.
The Mesquite Symphonic Band and the Rockwall Children’s Chorus will team up to provide area residents an opportunity to experience a dose of holiday music. The two groups will host a concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Mesquite Arts Center, 1527 N. Galloway. Tickets for the performance are $10 and will be available at the door the evening of the concert. Children ages 6 and under are free.
